The Geography department have achieved the Secondary Geography Quality Mark (from the Geographical Association) in recognition of excellence in teaching and learning. This is the third consecutive award, recognising and celebrating the hard work and efforts of staff in the delivery of teaching and learning across all key stages. We applied for this award in October 2018 and are delighted to have achieved it in time for the beginning of the new academic year. To achieve this status, we submitted numerous amounts of departmental evidence, including 'our best lessons', literacy and numeracy links, extracurricular opportunities, international trips, fieldwork studies, the opportunity for stretch and challenge within the classroom, staff training courses and the successes we have celebrated through KS4/5 results. What an excellent way to begin the year!

Requests received during or just before school closure periods will not be able to be responded to within the one calendar month response period. This is because no one will be on site to comply with the request. As a result, it is unlikely that your request will be received during this time (and so the time period does not run until we receive the request). We may not be able to acknowledge your request during this time (i.e. until a time we receive the request) and the time period may not start until the School re-opens. The School will endeavour to comply with requests as soon as possible and will keep in communication with you as far as possible. If your request is urgent, please provide your request during term times and not during/close to closure periods.
