Catholic Life and Mission
Catholic Life and Mission
Inspired by both our tradition of Catholic Social Teaching and the examples of the Saints we consider living our faith through action and service to others as a vital expression of a Catholic education. Mindful of both our local community and our duties as global citizens we invite students to participate and learn through a wide range of events and campaigns and charity events,. including our Reverse Advent Calendar, CAFOD Big Lent Walk and Big Sleepout. In addition to these events eEach Form Patron Group chooses a charity to support, inspired by the life and legacy of their patron.
Year group and form liturgical prayer
Opportunities for prayer and liturgy take place on a daily basis. Each week we adopt a theme inspired by scripture, the liturgical calendar, our form patrons, and significant national and international events. Each theme challenges students to respond in their own lives through a challenge to ‘let your light shine by...’.
Each week students gather as a year group for a Celebration of the Word in our Chapel. These are planned and delivered by form patron groups, the School & College Chaplain, members of the Senior Leadership Team, and academic departments. Each morning in form starts with prayer, with reflections prepared by student groups, the Chaplaincy and other Catholic groups and organisations as appropriate.
