Feast & Feast Week : As a Servant of God there is not currently a liturgical Feast Day in the Church for Dorothy Day. Our Feast Week takes place in October close to November, when both her birth and death are remembered.

A journalist, suffragist, campaigner and radical. Dorothy Day is the co-founder of the Catholic Worker Movement, and spent her life putting faith into action through her words, the houses of hospitality she opened, and campaigning against nuclear weapons and for peace, justice and worker’s rights.

Our mural of Dorothy Day celebrates her life as a journalist and founder of The Catholic Worker newspaper, her campaigning for peace, and the houses of hospitality which the Catholic Worker movement runs..
