A Nauhtl-Aztec farmer Juan Diego lived following the fall of the Aztec Empire and the conquest of Mexico. He was called by Our Lady, speaking in his native language to take her message to the powerful, carrying her image miraculously imprinted on his poncho. His experienced showed that God speaks in every language, and his story led thousands of people to faith.
Our Juan Diego mural captures Saint Juan Diego in his ‘tilma’ (the cloak he wears) along with the image of Our Lady of Guadeloupe, the roses which blossomed on Tepeyac Hill, and on the righthand side the original church which was built at Our Lady’s request.
