Cover Manager

Support Staff Salary:       Grade 6 (SCP 14-20)

Salary:                                 £ 19,721pa  Actual salary based on working 39 weeks per year

Hours:                              37 hrs per week/ term time + 1 week

(7.30am start time to meet the needs of the school)  

The Governors of this Catholic high school are looking to appoint a hardworking, enthusiastic and reliable individual to lead/manage our existing team of cover supervisors, who play a pivotal supporting role in raising standards of achievement in or out of the classroom.  The Cover Manager will work with the Senior Assistant Headteacher: Business, Finance & Resources to manage an efficient & effective cover system within school. The post holder will be responsible for arranging daily cover, administering cover requirements and contacting supply agencies to identify and book supply staff as required. In addition, the postholder will also make a positive contribution to pupils' learning by providing classroom supervision and delivering prepared lessons, across all subjects and year groups, during the short-term absence of teaching staff.

 

The successful candidate will lead a team of cover supervisors and be a role model within our school community with excellent communications skills, flexibility in your approach and the ability to relate well with all stakeholders.  The aptitude to work in a composed and authoritative manner, to ensure stability and continuity for students will be an important element of this role. Previous experience of working with young people between the ages of 11-16 would be a distinct advantage along with the ability and skills to instil high expectations whilst promoting a calm and orderly classroom environment.
