Year 8 Annual London Trip
What an amazing time we had in London on the 24th & 25th November. 88 Year 8 students and 12 staff set off from school at 5am. After a quick stop at the services we arrived at the London Eye just after 11am. Split into several pods on the London Eye we got to see all the famous landmarks in this fabulous, vibrant city.
After the London Eye we enjoyed some free time in the Southbank Christmas Markets where we enjoyed some lunch before heading to our hotel.
After we refreshed ourselves and got our glad rags on ready for the theatre, we headed over to the Fire & Stone Restaurant for our evening meal. 100 Pizzas and bowls of Ice Cream later we made our way to the beautiful Lyceum Theatre for the evening performance of ‘The Lion King’.
On Sunday we woke up bright and early for breakfast before leaving the hotel at 9am to make our way to the London Dungeons. The London Dungeons is a full immersive experience where you are whisked away into the capital’s most perilous past. We were scared and educated at the same time!
After the Dungeons we headed back over to Covent Garden for some free time to explore, eat lunch and get some retail therapy. The end of the jam packed weekend was in sight as we boarded our coaches for the last time to head home.
The students were an absolute credit to the school and their families and all had a fantastic weekend that they will never forget.
Thank you to all 12 staff, in particular our trip leader Mr Lloyd, who gave up their weekend to enable students to have this experience.
